remember me

remember project

People with frontotemporal dementia gradually lose their empathy, their personality, their reasoning, and their language. They disappear – before their loved ones' very eyes.

My name is Lukas Olszewski, and as an FTD-family member, doctor, and filmmaker I am touring worldwide with the remember project.

I will be showing the film remember me at your institution: You will experience up close, through the authentic perspective of a family affected by FTD, how this dementia subtly begins to infiltrate the lives and daily routines of those affected, gradually becoming more destructive over time.

After the film screening, I will share in detail my personal experiences and challenges as a FTD family member and, in a moderated audience discussion, offer participants a safe space for questions and conversation, opportunities to build a lasting support network and hopefully an unburdening exchange of experiences.

My goals are to create awareness, community and support for those affected, social and political change in the way we deal with FTD, earlier diagnosis and more funding for care and research.

The remember project is suitable for a wide range of public events as well as in-house training and seminars, and aims to foster interdisciplinary networking and collaboration.

The offer is aimed at therapists and institutions that are confronted with FTD or other neurodegenerative and mental illnesses in a professional context, such as self-help groups, non-profit associations, research centers, clinics, residential groups, health insurance companies, healthcare companies and political institutions – as well as those affected, their relatives and caregivers.

Upon request, I can offer training sessions, lectures, and interactive workshops tailored to the prior knowledge, interests, and composition of the participants, as well as the goals of your institution.
