remember me

perspectives

The remember project stands for destigmatisation and an honest public discourse about the challenges of every aspect of these diseases. Join the project on the rewarding journey towards a future without FTD!

Awareness, Community and Support

The remember project stands not only for raising awareness of FTD and increasing visibility for those affected and their caregiving families but also for a broader goal: to inform and connect the various actors in the healthcare sector in order to jointly develop low-threshold and comprehensive support services and suitable care facilities for those affected.

Societal and Political Change

The remember project seeks to initiate a societal and political shift in how we deal with FTD and other forms of dementia. I stand for destigmatization and an honest public discourse about the challenges of every aspect of these diseases. Through the project, those affected can have a voice, connect with each other, and actively participate in this process of change.

Earlier Diagnosis

A particular focus of the project is the goal of a quicker, earlier diagnosis. Throughout, I emphasize the early symptoms of this disease, so that FTD can be recognized earlier within the social and medical environment, helping mitigate some of the profound personal and social consequences.

Networking and Research

Networking allows researchers, patients and their families to easily get in contact with each other. This will then allow the FTD patient registry to be further expanded. For this, a large amount of data about patients and their families, their specific FTD subtype, their respective molecular and genetic characteristics and many other factors are collected and analyzed. This creates completely new opportunities for research, such as the development of new methods for early detection. And if, for example, the effectiveness of a new therapy is to be researched, FTD sufferers can be offered a potentially promising new drug quickly and tailored to them.

Acquiring Financial Resources

In order to sustainably improve the lives of those affected, more money is needed for their care. In addition, increased investment in research and development of drug therapies may ultimately enable potential therapeutic breakthroughs and bring a cure for FTD and other forms of dementia ever closer.
